A 15-year-old boy from Tennessee was severely beaten by a schoolmate as
he had been walking home from school on August 28, 2015. The boy, Ethan
H., was a football player for his school's team. The day before the
incident, he had been walking toward his friend's home, when other
students stopped him. They asked him to play football, and he turned down
Mother Fears for Son's Safety
The boys then began taunting Ethan H. for refusing to play ball with them.
The next day, the boys jumped Ethan, punching him twice in the back of
the head and leaving him with a shattered collarbone. He also sustained
a concussion in the incident.
Ethan H.'s mother has shared concerns over her son's safety, stating
that she is now living in absolute terror over the matter. Ethan's
mother believes that the school district has done nothing to help her
son. According to his mother, she reported that the school gave him a
wheelchair but did not call a nurse or attend to his medical needs. An
ambulance was also not called to the scene.
