Data collected between 2010 and 2019 show that:

  • Florida had a total of 5,893 pedestrian accident fatalities.
  • Orlando metro area had a total of 740 fatalities and ranked #1 in pedestrian deaths.
  • South Florida had 1,675 deaths per 100,000 residents.
  • The following areas had the most pedestrian fatalities in Florida:
    • Orlando – Kissimmee – Sanford – 295
    • Palm Bay – Melbourne -Titusville – 261
    • Deltona – Daytona Beach – Ormond Beach – 260
    • North Port – Sarasota – Bradenton – 248
    • Tampa – St. Petersburg – Clearwater – 223
    • Lakeland – Winterhaven – 215
    • Jacksonville – 205
    • Cape Coral – Fort Meyers – 192
    • Miami – Fort Lauderdale – Pompano Beach – 172
