Florida Roundup Cancer Lawsuits
Have You Developed Cancer Due to Roundup? Call an Attorney at (888) 499-6206.
Despite the link between the herbicide Roundup and cancer — most commonly, non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma — Bayer, the manufacturer, is still selling the product at many big-name stores across the country. You may be wondering how this product could stay on the shelves, particularly if you have heard of the $11 billion settlement reached in 2020 between Bayer and numerous plaintiffs who alleged Roundup caused them injury. The answer is simple: Bayer clearly cares more about profit than consumer health and safety.
If you have developed cancer after toxic exposure to Roundup, you have legal rights. It remains possible to file a personal injury lawsuit against Bayer for the harm it has done to you. Do not wait to contact a Roundup cancer attorney; the statute of limitations (the legal deadline) on your case may be close to expiring. Once it does, you will no longer be eligible to seek compensation.

What Is Roundup?
Roundup first went to market in the 1970s, and even after the groundbreaking lawsuits over its toxicity were won, it continues to be one of the most popular herbicides in the United States. Glyphosate is Roundup’s active, and most toxic, ingredient. A nonselective herbicide, glyphosate kills plants and crops indiscriminately.
In 1996, Bayer (Monsanto at the time) took its business model a step further by genetically modifying seeds that could resist glyphosate. In other words, you could spray your entire garden with Roundup, and only the unwanted weeds and plants (those that were not genetically modified) would be killed. The convenience factor of this model bolstered Roundup’s popularity — and Monsanto’s stock.
WHO Declares Glyphosate a Potential Carcinogen
In 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization (WHO), declared that Roundup’s active ingredient was “probably carcinogenic to humans.” A scientific consensus has yet to be reached, however. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), for example, asserts that glyphosate is not a carcinogen, even as myriad groundskeepers, gardeners, farmers, and other persons injured by Roundup exposure come forward with their own accounts of developing various cancers. (More often than not, they have developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after years of using Roundup.)
Roundup Litigation Against Bayer Is Ongoing
While the consensus is out on the exact toxicity of glyphosate, the first three Roundup cancer lawsuits won against Bayer laid down a solid foundation for future legal action. In fact, each of these lawsuits was won on the basis that Bayer did not adequately warn consumers that Roundup put them at risk of experiencing serious side effects. The more injured persons who come forward and file suit, the closer we get to ensuring that Roundup does not harm others in Florida and across the country.
As of now, there are thousands of Roundup cancer lawsuits against Bayer that have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) actions. If you or a loved one has developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma or another form of cancer due to Roundup exposure, you may qualify to join an MDL action. Contact Rosenberg & Rosenberg, P.A. online today to find out if you are eligible.
How Much Is a Roundup Cancer Lawsuit Worth?
The first three Roundup trials resulted in jury awards worth $2 billion, $289.2 million, and $80 million. While bellwether trials such as these function as a framework for future cases, subsequent plaintiffs are never awarded as much compensation. Roundup MDL actions are expected to result in six-figure recoveries for many plaintiffs, which is much higher than other MDL actions. Depending on your exposure to Roundup, which type of cancer you developed, and your losses, you may be entitled to more or less compensation than the average.
Recover Your Full Compensation from Bayer
As mentioned, if your lawsuit is successful, you could be entitled to financial compensation for your losses, or “damages.” These may include but are not limited to the following:
- Medical treatment and care
- Lost wages
- Reduced future earning potential
- Pain and suffering
- Loss of quality of life
