This incredible fundraising event benefits the 19,000+ women who are diagnosed with breast cancer in Florida each year. All donations from this event will be distributed to local breast health programs located throughout the Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties.
Since 1999, Susan G. Komen Miami Fort Lauderdale has invested over $12 million in local breast health and breast cancer awareness projects. Thanks to donations, this organization is able to provide the following services to individuals and families across Florida:
- Patient services
- Treatment programs for the uninsured
- Support groups and survivorship services
- Community breast cancer screenings
- National breast health education campaigns
- Community education and outreach programs
- Breast Care Helpline
According to Susan G. Komen, one woman in the United States – a friend, a sister, a lover, a wife, a mother – is lost to breast cancer every 13 minutes. Thanks to public support, the organization has already funded over $400,000 for public health agencies, not-for-profit health care organizations, and community groups – and that’s just for 2019!
